This is a set of four workshops stretching over two days.

Profile Builder is the authoring tool that allows you to build and manage Profiles in PebblePad. Profiles allow users to respond to questions and ability statements with scales ranging from 1-2 thro' 1-9 and with short text and long-text answers. Creating and Managing Gateways - 03 December 2009, 1000 - 1300

Gateways are widely used where large numbers of users submit work for assessment, accreditation or review. As gateways provide tools to lock work; provide access to moderators; provide and release feedback and store grades, gateways can be used as an online submission system. more..

PebblePad: Getting Sophisticated - 03 December 2009, 1400 - 1700

PebblePad contains a number of great ‘advanced’ features such as linking to Flickr and YouTube; adding RSS as content; adding a wide-range of special pages to WebFolios; tagging and mobile use. more..

How will this be facilitated?

A team of staff will run each of the half-day workshops, covering the respective subject in greater detail to facilitate the development of skills and knowledge for the implementation of ePortfolio processes within the relevant area. Following the workshop attendees will be able to draw upon resources available from Pebble Learning to support their activity.


Outcomes for the workshop

By the end of the workshop it is anticipated that colleagues will have:

  • developed a thorough understanding of the relevant subject through the creation of personal digital assets;
  • identified activities that could support learning and personal development planning.

The workshop will involve:

  • an introduction to the relevant subject;
  • guided walk-throughs within practical contexts;
  • an exploration of contexts and scenarios of use;
  • discussion of the potentialities and issues surrounding the respective subject.

What's not included?

You'll have access to all of the normal functions PebblePad is famous for! The only things you won’t see are those functions which require the more complex admin associated with an institutional set-up.
