Welcome to SQA Deskspace!

SQA Deskspace is an ePortfolio system designed to support reflective learning. It is currently available at no cost for all Skills for Work and Scottish Baccalaureates candidates to use for evidencing and collating their course work. Features include online NAB checklists and assessor observation checklists; webfolio templates; e-verification and quality assurance, and more.

• It is being used by students to collate work for assessment; to enhance personal development planning; to record progress on courses; and to support group work.
• It is being used by teachers for sharing information with their students, for providing feedback on progress and, of course, to support assessment processes.

Please note your centre must be an approved Skills for Work/ Baccalaureates centre in order to obtain licenses. Licences cannot be obtained by indivdiuals or centres not approved to deliver Skills for Work or Scottish Baccalaureates.

Want to sign up to Deskspace?

In order to register for the SQA Deskspace e-portfolio, tutors are required to complete training in the system.

Training in the system is available through the online course on SQA Academy which can be completed fully online in a couple of hours at a time convenient for you. Following completion of the training, tutors can register their candidates for Deskspace accounts. To enrol on the online course please email esf@sqa.org.uk.

Alternatively, face-to-face sessions are being held throughout the year at the SQA offices in Glasgow.

SQA Deskspace Mobile

Deskspace Mobile will be available from October 2010 in 3 formats: Basic, PDA and iPhone.

Candidates will be able to take pictures and submit evidence of course work straight from their mobile phone to their Deskspace account. Deskspace Mobile is aimed to help improve access to the e-portfolio, in particular for those centres with limited access to IT facilities. Deskspace Mobile is an optional feature to use for centres signed up to Deskspace.

Announcement (01 May 2010)

SQA are pleased to announce that further funding has been secured from the European Social Fund to enable the continuation of Skills for Work initiatives such as Deskspace. Delivery of Deskspace, free to all Skills for Work candidates, is therefore secured for the next academic year 2010/11.
