About Me
My name is Tom Teichmann and I have been working as a Multimedia Developer for Pebble Learning since 2005. My roles and responsibilities are quite varied and include graphic design and manipulation, desktop publishing and design for print, frontend development, programming, web development and database design as well as support, promotional and maintenance work in various areas within the company. Some of the main projects I am actively involved in are the frontend development of the Profile Builder and the ongoing development and maintenance of the Pebble Learning website.
My academic background is as a Bc(Hons) in Multimedia Communication (2005) at the University of Wolverhampton, which also included a year work placement at the Centre for Learning and Teaching where I was employed as an eMaterials Developer. This, I believe, gave me a good foundation to build on during my professional work. Prior to that I completed an Access course at the Shrewsbury College of Arts & Technology (SCAT) in preparation for the degree.
I believe that being a member of CMALT will help me to better understand my work within the context as an e-Learning technologist, help me to improve my reflective skills within the development process and give me a better understanding of some of the academic concepts upon which my work is often based.
