MICR2X22 - Prac 3: Enrichment, Isolation and Characterisation of an Environmental Organism (4)

Introduction

In this exercise, you will be working in pairs to:

 

a) Plan an experiment to isolate a microorganism from the environment. This plan will form 2% of your total mark for this semester.

 

b) Carry out the experiment: enrichment, isolation, purification, and identification to genus level of the target microorganism.

 

c) Write and present a PowerPoint seminar to the rest of your bench, introducing your organism and its significance, your conclusions and future directions. This presentation will form 8% of your total mark for the semester.
