About me!
Hello and welcome to my (that's me!) webfolio!
I am currently a student at the University of Wolverhampton studying Graphic Communication. I have chosen to come on this particular course because, after reading the prospectus, I felt that it offered the best opportunities for the type of career I wish to pursue. During my time studying I am most looking forward to learning essential skills needed in becoming a successful graphic designer, meeting new people, and enjoying general student life i.e. pubs and clubs, and I think some of my biggest challenges are going to be being able to cope with the work load as University is a great big step up from College. After my studies are finished I aspire to have a successful and, importantly, enjoyable career, working with like minded people on interesting projects; I would love for something I have helped design to be recognised by people worldwide, this is a big dream but not impossible, and I hope my experiences at Wolverhampton University will aid me one step further to making it reality.

-Inspiration, eh???-
Well, as I'm a Graphics student you'd expect me to have influences and places/people of inspiration right?...I do, funnily enough, and I'd have to start with this place, it's an online art community where people sign up and post their pieces of art; its anything from traditional art, digital art, pixel art and vector art (my personal favourites), artisan crafts, anime/manga, Flash art (which I am currently learning in Image Primer), designs for websites, packaging, t-shirts...mostly anything you could think of. It's a great place to just spend hours and hours looking through everyone's amazing artwork, and therefore is a wonderful resource for inspiration.
My second source of creative juices has to be supermarkets, or any place that holds products be it food, toys or gadgets. I love looking around all of the isles, at the packaging, typography, and thinking to myself, "well I could do better than that!" Sometimes looking at some of the truly awful designs that have been produced and are sold worldwide can give a girl a great deal of hope! But other times I think to myself, "wow, I wish I could do something like that..." and that spurs me on to try harder and come up with better designs.
Other places I turn to when in need of inspiration would have to be my iPod: music can really help spark all those nodes in my soft, spongey brain, and help me come up with some exciting stuff. Also, looking out of the window every now and again to get a whaft of reallity after looking at a computer screen for hours, is really good for the senses; nature can be the structure of some of my work, it comes in many shapes, sizes and colours and is always changing.
