My future development/progression

.... hmmmmmm this is really hard for me 'future development/progression' - a year ago I would not have been able to answer this - never been able to see further than next week, or perhaps I have never looked!

I know I already have lots of skills, but from my degree I am really hoping to grow in confidence, to be more creative and to have the confidence to use this in the work place. I want to be stretched and challenged and hope I can open my mind to different ways of thinking and learning. My weakest area is presenting, and really hate it, but I know if I am to progress further I need to be able to present myself well and confidently in interviews and to be able to do formal and informal presentations without feeling the need to put a bag over my head! I would like to complete my degree in 5 years, but know I can move this goal post if I need to, by this time I will still be 'forty something' and have nearly twenty years of working life left... that really is a scary thought!

To run alongside my degree I was looking for further experience into different events and in a moment of madness I decided I had time to do some voluntary work - so at the beginning of this year I enrolled with Active Volunteers at the University. I got a role with Cancer Research and sit on a committee for a Relay for Life event to be held this September in Stourbridge. I know this is going to be challenging but an invaluable experience.

I think looking ahead, the volume of work and juggling study/work/family is going to be as challenging as the work itself but I realised in one of my action plans the huge amount of 'people' support I have, (giving me lots of voice choices on my 'sat nav') - I can only succeed! ........................... so just spreading my wings at the moment, but - I WILL fly one day!
