My 1st semester ... and Pebble
One of my modules in my very 1st semester was employability skills. Something with being a mature student and with 25 years of working experience I felt I had an abundance of. Although I didn't feel especially stretched by this module, it did highlight to me my strengths and weaknesses in this area, but what I think I enjoyed most about this module was it was completed in Pebble Pad. Never been a very creative person I found Pebble gave me the opportunity to stretch my creative skills and what's more I found I enjoyed being creative, and as my mood changes then my creativity changes and Pebble gives me the flexibility to do this. It encourages me to be reflective on my work of which I can share or not share and I now have the beginnings of an eportfolio of my journey that I can return to again and again, .....easily.
These were my thoughts for this module in my first ever semester!
As my degree progresses I am really looking forward to being able to use pebble interactively with the lecturers and fellow students, I think the blogging tool could be an interesting extension of lectures/debates.
For the last four years I have administratively supported the Telling Stories Conference here at the University of Wolverhampton, so I have heard many eportfolio stories. Whilst I enjoyed being involved in this event I didn't always understand the fascination with eportfolio, but now as a student .. I do!
