Dear Matthew, cc Field Chair(s) and Personal tutor We are pleased to let you know that you have been selected to be nominated for an exchange programme at UTS, Australia for the Brookes semester 2, 2009/10 (UTS semester 1 2010)! Please read through this email carefully, because it contains all the relevant information about the next steps. Attached you can find the UTS fact sheet with all the relevant links. You then need to submit all the UTS forms to our office along with: * an up-to-date Brookes transcript (available from the Academic Management Office, Gipsy Lane Campus) * a print out of your PIP page showing the current modules * the Learning Agreement Form (pdf) signed by your Field Chair(s) * the Oxford Brookes Student Agreement (pdf) form * a copy of your passport * all other support documents as required by the host university The support documentation that you need to submit may vary from institution to institution. Please ensure you follow the instructions on the host institution application form and bring the forms to our office *well before the host university application deadline 30 August 09**. *Should the links above not work, the forms can be downloaded on the Brookes website http://www.brookes.ac.uk/students/exchanges/international/applications* * *Deciding on the modules you want to take while on exchange* * Your Field Chair(s) will need to approve the modules you take during your exchange. At the time of application, most host universities will not have a definite list of modules that will run in your chosen semester. Because of this, we advise you to choose more modules than you need, and make sure your Field Chair(s) confirms they are suitable. * The requirements of your course may include compulsory and honours modules, and you cannot take honours modules while on exchange. Your Field Chair(s) and Personal Tutor can help you with your specific course requirements. * Your Field Chair(s) must sign the learning agreement form and agree/approve the level and content of your proposed module choices. * You will need to enrol for the equivalent of 30 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) credits for one semester workload or 60 ECTS for a whole academic year. * Choose at least 2 additional modules per semester (if possible) before you meet with your Field Chair(s) Credits: 1 UTS credit point = 1.25 ECTS credits 6 UTS credit points = 7.5 ECTS credits 8 UTS credit points = 10 ECTS credits 24 UTS credit points = 30 ECTS credits Please also note that a nomination does not constitute a guarantee of an offer with the partner university, and that the partner university to which your application will be sent makes the final decision based upon the application process, including academic performance. The host institution reserves the right to refuse an applicant. This has happened very rarely. Please let us know if you don't want to apply for the International Exchange programme, as we then will offer the place to another applicant. ********************* *IMPORTANT:* You need to attend one of our briefing sessions next week: THU 26th FEB 12:30-1:30 room Dem 09 Darcy Building, Gipsy Lane or FRI 27th FEB 12:30-1:30 room Dem 11 Darcy Building, Gipsy Lane During this session we will give you further information about the application process and you will have the opportunity to ask questions about the forms, the process etc. ********************* Congratulations!
